FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL AT ROYAL LEAMINGTON SPA…

The hugely popular Royal Leamington Spa Food and Drink Festival is set to return on the weekend of September 8 and 9 and so brings the town’s Summer of Fun to a sizzling finale.

With over 25,000 foodies flocking to the Royal Pump Room Gardens in the town centre from across the UK for the two-day annual extravaganza, it is the biggest event in the town’s calendar and regarded as one of the best autumn food festivals in the country.

It is set to be a fabulous, fun filled weekend of activities and entertainment that will have everyone’s taste buds tingling and feet tapping.

With more than 130 producers and retailers showcasing the best in local and regional food and drink alongside an impressive line-up of local chefs demonstrating their culinary skills on the Live Cookery Kitchen plus other regular favourites like the Kids Make & Bake Cookery School and live entertainment there is something for all ages.

Alison Shaw, project manager of BID Leamington, which organises the festival with the support of local businesses, said: “People travel from far and wide to the festival and its reputation grows every year. The diverse range of local food and drink is a big attraction along with a packed programme of cooking demonstrations, tastings and live entertainment. Plus it’s totally FREE to attend.”

Alison added: “The Festival wouldn’t be possible without the support of local businesses so we will be welcoming back many old favourites including The Royal Pug, The Cakery, Warwick Street Kitchen, and The Drawing Board as well as new experiences from the Steamhouse, Libertine, Slurp and CAU to name but a few. It really is a complete celebration of local and international food and drink and a wonderful opportunity for people to come together to sample the very best food, drink and entertainment that the area has to offer.”

Once again Aubrey Allen will be running the ‘Home Cook of the Year’ competition with applications available from its store in Warwick Street, Leamington. The three finalists will compete pan to pan, knife to knife in the Festival’s Live Kitchen on the Sunday.

All of this is washed down with entertainment form local bands including Chasing Deer, AcSiA, Gloria Sunset and Boss Acoustics to name but a few.

Visitors will also be able to pick up their Little Book of Offers which features over 80 fantastic and exclusive discounts and promotions across a wide range of products and services in the town centre.
