Council tribute Councillors had a period of silence to remember JeanGrice, a former chairman of the council,who died on February 18. Parishmeeting Itwas agreed to cater for 20 people at the annual parishmeeting,with CllrWillson to arrange the food, CllrDoe to provide paper cups and CllrManser to arrange the drinks. The clerk had invited local groups, the county councillor and the PCSO,while CllrManser had invited all hall hirers.Mrs Vizzard had agreed to be the guest speaker for the evening. Heaveworks Three quotes had been received for the hardstanding area: £6,120; £6,410 plus VAT; and £15,350 plus VAT. It was decided to accept the quotation of £6,410, and the clerkwas to ask the insurance company for advice on thema�er. Car parkOnly one quote had been received for thework to resurface the parish field car park, so the searchwould continue. Parish fieldAn annual le�er had been drafted to be sent to South Street residents whose gardens back on to the parish field, reminding themthat they have no right of access to the field.Aresident had asked if they could put a bouncy castle on the field for a private party, but the council decided to decline this due to safety concerns. Memberswere happy to agree to a request to use the field for a charity footballmatch, if the users understood thatmembers of the publicwould still be using the field. Pitchworries Barming Youth FC had been advised by the school not to play on their field due towetweather, and the council agreed the same should apply to the parish field. CllrsGooch andManser agreed to discuss thema�erwith the football club and in themeantime, theywould be asked to assess the conditions on the day. TreemaintenanceAquote £150 had been accepted to cut back the sides of the trees on the Church Lane side of the parish field. Memberswere also keen to keep the oak tree on council land at CedarDrive in good condition, and the quotation of £200 for the workwas accepted. Potholes Borough councillor SueGrigg told the council that therewere concerns about potholes, but itmay take Kent County Council awhile to get the backlog sorted. Camper van CllrGrigg reported that there were overheadwires trailing to a camper van parked onOld LooseHill fromthe owner’s house. Thismightmean someone is living in the van. The communitywarden, Liz Lova�,was asked to investigate. Scams Liz Lova�’s reportmentioned that criminalswere contacting residents claiming to be fromthe Police or Trading Standards, and that poorwork has been carried out. They insist the resident paysmoney that will be reimbursed after the court hearing. Therewere alsowarnings of doorstep criminals offering to dowork on gu�ering, roofs or driveways. Liz had also been workingwith vulnerable residents in the badweather and distributingwater to those with burst pipes. School parking Thewarden and PCSO were to arrange a date to go to Loose Primary School to talk to driverswho park inconsiderately close to the school. Kitchenworks Cllr Luckhurst explained the latest on the proposed newkitchen in the pavilion. Sampleswere approved, tiling and the sinkwere discussed. The chairman would supply flooring, and theworkwill be completed in school holidays. CllrHollister was to remove the old kitchen. Speedwatch The Speedwatch teamwere stillwaiting for the equipment to arrive. Lier Cllr Luckhurst provided an update on the Love LooseHate Li�er campaign. The campaign had been promised £500 from KCC and £200 fromthe LooseAmenities Association (LAA). The launchwas to be on


April 21. Brooks Field TerryDavis reported the LAA had received some late representations regarding the shed on Brooks Field and somemembers had requested that they re- consultwith householders as the unit differed fromthe previous plans. The clerk was to contact LAAand ask that the project be put into the planning department as soon as possible. McAlpine Trust Six trusteeswere needed to represent the parish council, and Cllr Hollister agreed to be the sixth. Parishmeeting The agenda for themeeting onApril 25was agreed. The clerkwas to ask community groups if theywould like a stall and to speak.Adefibrillator demonstration and a slot for theNeighbourhood Plan Groupwas agreed. Bouncy castles Itwas agreed that changes needed to bemade to the hire agreement in order for bouncy castles to be used at the Pavilion. Itwould be amended to say that bouncy castleswere not covered by LPC insurance, and that evidence the castle owner has public liability insurancewill be required. Socialmedia Staff hadmetwith Boxley Parish Council’s clerks regarding the use of Facebook and a CommunityAlert system. It was agreed that Loosewould set up both.

Car park Itwas agreed to stick to the two- hourwaiting time per stay in the car park and to research the issue of permits for business use. The clerkwas towrite toMBC andwithdrawthe request to change to a one-hour stay, request a copy of the original agreement concerningmonitoring and enforcement and to addmonitoring of the car park to the next agenda. TreeworkAreplacement treewas to be planted at Lower Tovil and investigations were to bemade into additional landscaping work at Reeds cut-through, next to Lidl. Arrivawould be contacted again about the trees on Postley Road. Police presence The clerkwas to contact the PCSO, his sergeant and the Kent Police and Crime Commissioner concerning the lack of police presence atmeetings.
