Hawkinge SpitfireS Club This club is for the over 50's and we meet once a month on the second Wednesday in Hawkinge Village Hall. We have a variety of interesting speakers, music afternoons and outings during the year. Visitors are welcome and the cost is £3.00 including tea and biscuits. family fun Day - elham This will be held at Elham Village Hall on Saturday 24th March between 11am and 5pm to raise awareness and funds for Reverse Rett, a charity dedicated to research into the causes of Rett Syndrome, a condition which affects previously healthy little girls and robs them of the ability to walk, speak and use their hands. SpeeDwatCH Swingfield, Densole and Hawkinge Speedwatch group are looking for volunteers to join them in their effort to promote safety and safe driving on our roads. Members of the group are asked to give 2 hours a week to be in street places allocated by the Police to show drivers if they are speeding above the recommended speed limit as allocated by law. We do not make prosecutions that is down to the Police. What we do is to try and make our roads safer for all to use. The service is regulated by the Police all members are trained to a proficient standard. Volunteers must be 18 years of age, they can be male or female. etCHingHill CineMa Club ... is showing the film 'The Ottoman Lieutenant' (12)', Starring Michael Huisman, Hera Hilmar, Josh Hartnett and Ben Kingsley, on Monday 19th March at Etchinghill Village Hall. Doors open at 7 pm for a 7.30 pm start. This is the first movie to explore the eastern front of World War I and tells the story of a beautiful, strong-willed woman, who, frustrated by ongoing injustice at home, leaves the United States after meeting Jude, an American doctor who runs a remote medical mission within the Ottoman Empire.
