For many of us, a good meal can readily be found from a nearby refrigerator, pantry or grocery store. We nourish our bodies with satisfying food, and then we go on our way.


For children and adults suffering with hunger, the importance of a hot, nutritious meal cannot be overstated. For decades, your generosity has allowed WME’s Food For Hunger Program to provide immediate assistance to those struggling just to survive TODAY.


BUT WHAT ABOUT A LONG-TERM SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF HUNGER?WHAT CAN WE DO TO AID FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES THAT WILL IMPACT THEIR LIVES BEYOND TODAY BY CREATING A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION THAT WILL HELP THEM BE SELF-SUFFICIENT TOMORROW?


URGENT NEEDS


During our long involvement in community mission work, World Missionary Evangelism has found the most effective solution for ending hunger is supplying seed for crops and farm animals. Why? This gives families the means to grow and produce their own food. This is a solution for now and for the future!

Raising farm animals and crops provides food to the hungry, teaches valuable skills and promotes self-sufficiency. Farm animals can sustain an entire family by providing eggs, milk, cheese, meat and other nutritious products. And after taking what they need, a family can then sell extra food products and animal offspring at a local market.


That is why the gift of chickens, goats, cows or rabbits has been successful in lifting families from poverty. The gift of livestock is an investment that almost always expands in size and value. A family raising livestock has a sustainable livelihood that can grow with each passing year. That family can then bless others and improve their own community.


Farm animals, seeds and tools can transform the plight of a family for generations.


Seeds for raising crops offer the same potential impact. As little as $15 can provide enough seeds for a modest vegetable farm that potentially can feed a growing family and produce enough income for their other necessities.
