CHARITY OF THE MONTH THE ELY MEMORIAL FUND

Actively fundraising for families and campaigning for road safety with Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service and Hereford Police.

Formed in August 2012, The ELY Memorial Fund, is a local charity based in Herefordshire which offers a one-off condolence gift to families should they tragically lose their son or daughter travelling in a car aged between 17 – 25 years. The charity has been actively fundraising for families and campaigning for road safety with Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service and Hereford Police.

The ELY Memorial Fund is proud to introduce a beautiful jewellery collection, designed & created by Henryka, to help raise awareness of what they are doing and to grow the charity as much as they can.

A sterling silver necklace, which is inspired by the shape of The ELY Memorial Fund’s logo, is now available set with turquoise or cognac amber. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of every necklace will be donated to The ELY Memorial Fund to support more families at terrible times. Working closely with the designer Anna, they hope to grow the collection to include a smaller wing necklace, earrings and possibly a pair of cufflinks.

ELY Memorial Fund charity manager, Angela Tyler, comments: “ The Angel Wing necklace symbolises my personal journey since my beautiful daughter Emma, my shining light, died in seconds from her car accident leaving an aftermath of devastation.

“It is and still remains a difficult journey without my daughter being with me today. How I try to cope every day is through the love and support from my dear family and friends, but I believe my Emma’s love comes from her as an angel with her wings wrapped around me. Creating the Angel Wing necklace represents my deep love for my daughter, Emma. Even though I can’t continue my life with her, I know her wings have shaped my journey in her memory. Wearing it close to my heart gives me strength, as I hope others will find such comfort too.

“When I have a difficult dark day, her wings carry me for a short while before I am ready to challenge a new day where she gently lets me go. Henryka has offered me a personal gift to truly understand how living without Emma means by detailing a symbol of her wings through my personal journey and helping her Charity grow and support families in Herefordshire.”

Henryka founder and director, Anna Emmett, says: “It was an honour to be asked by Angela to create a beautiful collection that holds so much meaning. We truly hope we can raise funds for years to come to help Angela achieve what she needs for this special charity.”

The Henryka Angel Wing necklace is available to purchase online at both http://ely- memorial-fund.org.uk and www.henryka.co.uk and at Henryka’s own-brand boutique in Hereford. Both styles have an RRP of £65. Plans are now in place to grow the collection with a pair of matching earrings and a smaller Angel Wing necklace.
