lished since 1990, but is in urgent need of new drivers to meet demand, people who are willing to give a few hours of their time to drive local residents on straight- forward but essential journeys. Many older residents rely on

TAKE a look at this gorgeous winter sunrise. Out on my early morning dog walk I couldn't re- sist taking a photo to capture the stunning moment the sun came above the line of the trees. We, at the Community News,

would like to see your pictures and photos. Where have you been? What have you been doing? What sights have you seen? Perhaps you have been to one of our region's notable land- marks: Framlingham Castle, the Scallop on Aldeburgh beach or Leiston Abbey to name a few. Maybe you have captured a love- ly family snap whilst enjoying a meal at one of the many great pubs and restuarants we are fortu- nate to have in the area. In short, we want to see your pictures. I expect there are many who will take a better picture than me.

our volunteer drivers to help them get out and about and do everyday things that most of us take for granted, journeys that enrich lives and really add to the pleasure of day-to-day living. A simple trip to the shops or a

routine appointment at the doc- tors can be complicated, if not impossible, for some people with- out the support of a volunteer driver.

These journeys are especially

important where mobility issues can make it difficult, if not impos- sible, for older people in rural areas with limited transport ser- vices. Our drivers find it a rewarding

way to spend their free time because they know what a signifi- cant difference they are making to the lives of others. Ray Haines a volunteer driver says “It’s very

rewarding to put my energy into helping people who, for whatever reason, find life a struggle. Not everybody can jump in the car and drive to the shops or to the hospi- tal, which is where I can help.” So, if you enjoy driving and

have some spare time, you may be just the person we are looking for. Please contact Sandy or Lynn

on 01728 830516 or email cats.
