A MAIDSTONE man has been charged as part of an international operation targeting a group suspected of importing drugs and firearms.

Lane, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates Court after being chargedwith conspiracy to import firearms and classA drugs. The 36-year-old was one of eight
men arrested in Kent previously as part of the operation which also sawfourmen – including a serving Border Force officer – arrested near Calais. French police recovered 11
firearms – nine handguns and two revolvers – and magazines and suppressors, as well as 34kg of co- caine and 7kg of heroin. Two of the eight arrested in Kent
