Ikegami has announced the appointment of Trev Sword to the position of General Manag- er UK. Effective immediately, Sword is responsible for head- ing up Ikegami’s UK, Ireland and Africa operations as well as managing all key customer accounts, system integrators and channel partners across the regions. Sword brings a wealth of expe- rience and industry knowledge to the role, having worked in the broadcast industry for over 20 years. Starting his career in the technical support team at Quantel in 1995, Sword pro- gressed to team leader. From 2007 to 2014, Sword took the technical lead for all of Snell’s global sales team, specialising in production switchers. Sword’s most recent role was as Technical Sales Manager for Shotoku handling all glob- al sales. As Ikegami’s General


Manager UK, he will draw from his experience of leading the entire sales cycle, from tech- nical demonstrations to project management.


Sword comments on the ap- pointment, “My extensive ex- perience in global roles has equipped me perfectly to ex- pand Ikegami in the UK, Ire- land and Africa markets. Midwich has announced that Jenny Hicks has been promot- ed to the role of Head of Tech- nology for the Group. With a strong background in technolo- gy sales, Jenny has been with Midwich since 2012 where she joined Midwich's technical di- vision as an IP Video Special- ist. She later progressed to the role of Technology Manager in 2013, responsible for manag- ing Midwich Ltd’s portfolio of technical video brands. Following the launch of the


Technical division in 2015, Jenny assumed the role of man- aging the company’s Technolo- gy Specialists and Technical Support teams. Jenny’s role as Head of Tech- nology will predominantly fo- cus on UK projects but has also been expanded to provide oversight of the Group’s domes- tic and international technical projects, and will include work- ing closely with the Group’s technical vendors and explor- ing new technology

Prior to IMT, Abrams held similar executive sales positions at companies specializing in micro- wave, satellite, and fibre transmis- sion for broadcast television.

Nureva has announced the ap- pointment of Rob Abbott as its VP, Products. In his previous role as Nureva’s Director, Prod- uct Management, Rob led the Span visual collaboration sys- tem product line team, bringing his considerable background and perspective to the role. In his new role, Rob will drive the company’s product strategies and road map on a global scale to create market-shaping and market-leading software, hard- ware and services for business and education markets. Over a 15-year career at SMART Technologies (co-founded by Nureva’s co-founders Nancy Knowlton and David Martin), Rob held increasingly responsible posi- tions in hardware and software product management, helping to grow the company into a Ca- nadian technology heavyweight with almost US $800 million of annual revenue.
