Macaws will have in enhancing tourism to Costa Rica, a long term goal but one that is already having excellent results. We also have a very good article from Ray Holland on his experiences with the Blue-eared Glossy Starling concentrating on how to both care for this species in captivity and how to encourage it to breed. I do thank him for the work he has invested, without such enthusiastic keepers we would have little to publish. Two years ago there were a spate of thefts, which has now been ongoing for over 18 months from exhibitors keeping valuable show birds, there is strong evidence that exhibitors are being followed home after shows so it is suggested that you keep a close lookout for cars following you on your homeward journey, please see the advice that John Hayward gave on this serious problem in the 18th issue of Bird Scene by going to the archive at the foot of our Home page website.
