In this month's The Window we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Refor- mation with a historical view and a review of one of the many books about Luther and the Reforma- tion that have been published this year.

This month in The Window... edition of The Window.
Next month The Window will have a musical theme, with a profile of the new Director of Mu- sic at St Helen's, and a reflection on why there has been a resurgence in the popularity of Choral Evensong.
News from the Parish
This is the 20th anniversary of The Window. Originally for St Helen's, it was re-launched two years ago to be the magazine of the whole parish of Abingdon-on-Thames.
The editors are always glad to receive contributions; please speak to one of the editors if you would like something published so that we can make sure there is space.
Why not take a copy of The Window for a neighbour or colleague, or post on social media about an article that has interested you?

Welcome to Dr Peter Foster who took up his post as Director of Music at St Helen’s on September 18. More information about Peter will appear in the November Window.
Farewell The Revd Hilary Watkins will be moving to York in early October. Hilary joined us at St Helen's in 1992 and was involved in many ways as a lay person in the life of St Helen's, including serving on The Window committee from its start in 1997 until 2001. She was ordained in 2001 and served most of her ministry in Somerset. She retired in 2012, returning to Abingdon and has been part of the min- istry team, in particular being a regular celebrant at the Wednesday 1030 Eucharist. Her last service was Harvest Festival at the end of September. We wish Hilary 'Godspeed' as she prepares to move to
her new home.
