The role entails all aspects of newspaper work so a sound knowledge of news gathering, news editing, subbing and proofing is needed to fit into a busy office.
The successful candidate will help to manage a small, dedicated team and deputise for the editor.
The deputy editor will also drive content to our expanding daily news website. The role demands input into our popular magazine Mid Kent Living.
This is a full time position based at our offices in Bearsted. Some evening and weekend working will be required.

which is due to open in September, has been built by developer Tren- port, as the key to Peters Village, a 1,000 home new community on the east bank nearWouldham. With Snodlandalready feeling the
benefit of a high-speed rail link, which started a year ago, business
people are looking forward to a trade boomwhen traffic starts flow- ing across the bridge. Among them is hairdresser Alex Mackintosh (pic- tured left) who opened his salon Alexander’s in the town’s High Street
