FOr a decade and a half P & r locksmiths have been a fixture on the Thoroughfare in Wood- bridge. This family run busi- ness started with brothers Phill and ray Smith in 2002, now they are joined by brother John and nephew Scott, and have two fully equipped vans on the road as well as the busy shop and workshop in the town. no prizes for guessing that


this business does all things lock/security related. From key cutting to installing complete security systems and every- thing in between. as with all industries there have been sig- nificant advances in technology and the days of only being able to cut keys from an original are now long gone. P & r locksmiths have new


laser guided electronic machines which cut to an accu- racy of within 100th of a milli- metre. With continued invest- ment in state-of-the-art technol- ogy the team here can cut all types of keys from Chubb style keys to modern style laser dim- ple security keys. They don’t even need a key at all in some cases, as they have a machine that cuts based on a code and

is shoe repairs and leather work. This is Scott’s domain and Scott has been with the family busi- ness now for almost four years following many years working in the trade locally. Scott has a real talent for


leather work and is regularly complimented on his superb workmanship. alongside shoe repairs, Scott does a good amount of bridle work and other leather work. This is a skill that is in great demand. a nice pair of quality leather shoes will last a lifetime if well looked after and maintained. This is where Scott comes in.
