LIVE24SEVEN // Fashion, Health & Beauty UMB E R TO GIANNINI Damage Limitation

It’s that time of year when our locks can start to look a little forlorn.

Sun exposure (whether at home or abroad) can accumulate and leave hair feeling dry, brittle and generally unloved. The good news is that there is plenty you can do to get your style back on track. So whether your colour is tired and faded or your hair is limp and lifeless, here are my recommendations for you to try…

COLOUR RESCUE

Sunshine and chlorinated pools spell disaster for hair colour. From rapid colour fade (particularly redheads) to dodgy green tinges (chlorine + blonde hair is a notoriously difficult combination), we’ve seen it all here at Umberto Giannini Worcester. Forget homemade remedies (ketchup anyone?!) and get yourself booked in with one of our colour specialists – we’ll have your shade back to sensational in a jiffy! And while you’re here, why not top up your colour appointment with Smartbond, from £17, a bond strengthening system that helps protect and strengthen during the colouring process.

AND….CUT!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – all hair needs to be trimmed regularly in order to stay healthy-looking. Split ends cause the hair to weaken and left too long, damage can travel further up the hair shaft, meaning that you’ll need to have more cut off in the long run! I always advise my clients to book in for a cut after a holiday in the sun – even removing just half an inch from the ends removes those damaged strands and gives hair a fuller, more manageable feeling. If you’re growing your hair, be vocal with your stylist – explain that you only want the barest of trims and this should help prevent those hair mare jitters!
