CJNU, the joys of summer and Winnipeg Goldeyes W

hen I am looking for some relaxing entertain- ment, I can always count on a Goldeyes game at Shaw Park. It is an opportunity to meet with some of the Goldeyes people who make the game night a great one…from Garry at the Parking entrance to people like Andrew, one of the customer service reps. The kids can have great fun with the Goldeyes mascots, Goldie and Goldette as well as the pre-game autographs from the players. Plus, there is always entertainment on the free stage before the game. How about a fist bump with Dancin’ Gabe?
Winnipeg Goldeyes players signed pre-game autographs.
Then, it’s game time! Baseball, large choices of food and beverages and a host of crazy between innings events from “You Bet Your Bacon” to Sumo Cookie Fighting to the Seventh Inning Stretch. Ah, Summer in the City!

CJNU and the music of your life
o you remember dancing up a storm at your school sock hop, your local community club or even Bob Burns’ Teen Dance Party? If you go a little further back, dancing at the Roseland or the COF Hall?
CJNU tries to recapture the music of your life by featuring local bands on the CJNU FaceBook page, with ticket giveaways and attendance at some of their events.
Here are shots of several recent bands CJNU has featured REWiND and The B Side Champs. And the station also has been reminiscing with the Murray Rid- dell Big Band at the Manitoba Seniors’ Music Festival and Wine Pairings at Riverwood Square. The Royal Canadian Navy Band of HMCS Chippawa (Dixieland group) were at Shaw Park’s Canada celebration and Greg Leskiw and Swing Soniq, were part of the Casi- nos of Winnipeg summer entertainment series at As- siniboine Park.
