Suffolk Police Seeking Public’s Assistance In Locating Two


Missing Endangered Women


SUFFOLK, Virginia -- The Suffolk Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating two missing endangered women; Martha Pittard, age 52, and Gloria Ellis, age 65. Pittard and Ellis were reported missing by their case manager. The women were last seen on St. James Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. on May 29, 2017, and may have entered a black car. Martha Pittard is described as a white female, 5’6”, 160lbs, with shoulder length brown hair. Pittard is intellectually disabled and also suffers from a medical condition which requires medication. It is unknown if she has that medication which makes her endangered. Gloria Ellis is described as a black female, 5’4”, 130lbs, with salt and pepper hair. Ellis usually walks with a cane and suffers from a medical condition which requires medication. It is unknown if she has that medication which makes her endangered. There is no photograph available of Ellis at this time.


Pittard and Ellis have been known to frequent Nancy Drive in Suffolk and have also been known to stay in Norfolk. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Mrs. Pittard and Mrs. Ellis, please call 911 or your local Police Department.


Personal Property Taxes due June 5 in Virginia Beach


Appeals can be made through June 9


VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — May 31, 2017 — Commissioner of the Revenue Phil Kellam wants to remind taxpayers that personal property tax bills are due Monday, June 5, 2017. However, you may still appeal your assessment through June 9 via the drive-thru appeals process and you will be refunded any monies should your assessment be lowered.


The drive-thru is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and Saturday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to noon.


Please Note: The Commissioner of the Revenue's drive-thru appeals tent will close during times of rain and will not conduct normal business activity until favorable weather returns.
