Further to its recent merger with chartered accountants Princecroft Willis, PKF Francis Clark has appointed Erin Davis as tax director. A highly- experienced corporate-tax adviser, she has worked with a wide range of clients from start-up businesses and university spinouts to multinational fully-listed companies, based both in the UK and overseas. Her particular areas of expertise include international tax; mergers and acquisitions; innovation tax reliefs, including patent box and research and development; and employee-incentive plans, such as share schemes and capital allowances.





• Carol Maunder, a partner at Dutton Gregory Solicitors in Bournemouth, has been appointed president of the Bournemouth and district Law Society, succeeding Julie Pick. She heads the firm’s negligence department and before qualifying as a solicitor worked as a cardiac technician. She believes this experience in the NHS helped her to understand better the complexities of putting together a successful clinical negligence case.

Jane Hodge, a solicitor and director at Biscoes Law in Portsmouth who specialises in immigration and sports law, has been appointed to the prestigious position of chairwoman of Forces Law, the independent organisation offering legal help to the Armed Forces.


Leading law firm Lester Aldridge has promoted four associate solicitors to partner. Three are based at the Bournemouth office: Chris Evans (far right) in the dispute-resolution team, Oliver Phipps (far left) in the international-private-client team, and Catherine Rawles (middle right) in the real-estate-development team. In the Southampton office, Nicola Sutton (middle left) has become a partner in the real-estate development team. It has also appointed Dan Geddes as a partner in its banking and finance group to work across the fast track and insolvency teams, and Kevin Barnett as an associate in its employment team.


Commercial property consultant Vail Williams has completed its 23-strong team in the Solent region with two new appointments to its business space division. Robert Lee (left) has been appointed senior surveyor and Alex Gauntlett (right) as graduate surveyor. The new hires follow the recent promotion of Mike Greenwood to regional managing partner, and the appointment of Nicky Reid as associate.

Following a vote of all the partners, Paul Eagland has been elected as the new managing partner of accountancy and advisory firm BDO LLP. From October he will succeed the current managing partner, Simon Michaels, who will then have completed his maximum of two four-year terms.


Portsmouth-based property development company Hampshire & Regional Property Group, which is involved in an increasing number of regeneration projects across the Solent region, has expanded its team with the appointment of Filipe Martins as development manager.





Eric Robinson Solicitors, the Hampshire law firm, has expanded its equity partnership with the promotion and addition of Emily Taylor, the firm’s heads of wills, trusts and succession; and of Thomas Hunt, head of the employment and immigration team, who will now also be in charge of the firm’s seventh office which will open in Basingstoke at the start of the summer.
