Kristy said that fashion is about contradictions and twisting of the past. It’s combining vintage with new, nostalgia with progress, opulence with grunge, clean lines with busy accessories or encrusted jewels.


“The hairstyles in my Faux Rebellion collection hark back through many eras in line with recent catwalk fashion, she said. “But it is not pure retro, it is reinvention.


“The 60s beehive or bouffant, 70s long and wild, 80s mullet and punk Mohawk silhouettes and 90s textured bob all peek through in these ‘now’ styles, forming a rebellion of the past with a definite, glamorous salute to the future.”

She said that such a broad variety of styles called upon a great number of cutting and styling techniques that have revisited core precision fundamentals to personalised free hand.


“What’s most important in transporting clients to this new fashion look is knowing them and their personal style.


“The consultation becomes even more important,” she said. “It is no longer only about adapting the ‘in’ look to the client’s face shape, it is about nailing the right era influence as the starting point and progressing from there.”


Kristy said that whatever the hair length, strong shape and ‘lived in’ texture were the main emphasis in coming seasons.
