I had an idea of what I wanted to do for the cut, but a lot
was decided on the day of the shoot. Especially the
violet upstyle... that was truly spontaneous. I had already done the color and her hair
was down to her butt, so I just started to create. There were so many great shots of these models, and we restyled the
hair again aſterwards for more options. But for each, I chose the original look. They were my favourite. The turquoise short hair model was actually
my make-up artist as well. She was amazing! Worked all day and then modelled for me at the end.
My photographer and I really
worked together on the posing of the models. We had a whole story board that was just for us to reference for posing.
These girls are not professional models, they are regular girls, so sometimes a little direction and a few visuals can go a long way.
Lighting was also a work in progress... we started with
a certain kind of light and it wasn’t really working so we changed it up. I also ordered the backdrop off
Etsy.com - it was vinyl... never again! The
reflection off of it was brutal! We had to work around that too. I learn so much every time I do a shoot.
