“I was inspired by


the organic sculpture of Australian


artist Susan White in creating the


hairstyles, using the colour and texture of the background


image to enhance the surrealistic nature of the imagery. “The idea of the out of body


experience is one that is prevalent in much fantasy literature, and the ‘ghosting’ effect used in the images, combined with the outlandish hairstyles inspired by contemporary


sculpture, portray the dreamlike mood that I wished to express with this image set.”
