r We need to

einvent ourselves

Star stylist and Contessa award winner Alann Sluser gave us the goods this month on what’s hot now in style, beauty and fashion. Here are the best of what she said to us.

“Fashion and style is part of an umbrella of total look. It’s made up from so many parts and elements. Stylists have to be so well versed in all areas of fashion to serve clients the best they can.”

“Clients want healthier options and so knowledgeable about it now. Salons on the leading edge need to offer products that are more gentle with less chemicals and that leave hair in exceptional condition.”

“In colour, we’ll see more warmth and richness. Colors like red, violet and intense copper. But in all color, there is a common denominator - clients need to reinvent themselves with it.”

“Changing makeup after getting hair color is so important. Hair color dramatically changes skin tones and the total look.”

“There is a ton of texture now and coming in the future.”

“We all need to push ourselves to reinvent ourselves. To change with the way our lives change, whether it’s a new job, new boyfriend or new city. It’s easy to get stuck in a rut and we must challenge ourselves and clients to change.”
