2nd Annual Gift of Giving Holiday Dinner
On Thursday, December 17th, Wayne County
Community College District (WCCCD) held its
WCCCD Board of Trustees and Chancellor’s 2nd Annual
Gift of Giving Holiday Dinner. Led by members of the
WCCCD Board of Trustees, the Chancellor, senior staff
and assisted by local community and faith-based
organizations, a meal was served to community
members who are without homes during this winter
season. The Downtown campus atrium was the site for
a festive celebration filled with food, music and a warm
spirit for all who participated. While WCCCD was
able to offer one afternoon for members of our
community who are facing difficult circumstances, it
remains an ongoing concern as the economy and winter
weather have been difficult for our region and the state.
This year a coat drive was also held to provide those in
need with an opportunity to pick up a coat. As the new
year approaches, the entire WCCCD staff prepare for
the challenge to help people transition to a new
economy and a new hope for the future.
