Using my camera, I check the temperatures inside a lava tube at the Masaya Volcano.
Changing Energy Near the volcano’s crater, I find a large, black tunnel. It’s a lava tube. Long ago, rivers of lava flowed down the mountain. Te hot lava melted the rock beneath it. Ten the top of the flow cooled and hardened. Tat created a tunnel. I use my camera to study this lava
tube and record temperatures. I see that this volcano has more energy than the first volcano I climbed. I want to compare the energy here
with the energy at another volcano, Momotombo. A power plant there already turns its geothermal energy into mechanical energy.
The geothermal energy from Momotombo is changed into electricity at a nearby power plant.
