May Editorial

by Ron Samson, Associate Publisher The times are a changin’ indeed!! Last year the Hamilton Port Authority launched its initiative

website portal in an effort to conveniently connect shippers with receivers.

This year, albeit after a frozen start, we bear witness to another

aggressive start up from the Port of Cleveland in efforts to move commerce from the mid west United States through the seaway to Europe. Everyone in the supply chain is wishing for a total success.

We were delighted that Aldert was able to engage and inter-

view some of our North American and European key players at the Breakbulk Conference in Antwerp and are pleased to offer video interviews with several of the attendees both from North America and Europe.

Marine Matters welcomes content from long time advertiser and consultant Stan Shumway with his content contributing to the Bio- fuel feature. Stan Shumway is a co-founder and President of Argent Hills, LLC with over thirty years of leadership and financial manage- ment experience. His primary focus is leading the Argent Hills team in the efficient deployment of capital and the management of those assets once funded.

Aldert and I are now both proud members of the Marine Club and

invite any of you who are not to join and contribute to the valuable contributions they bring to our marine community and life at large.

Next month we will bring you some coverage of the Mari-Tech

conference held in Niagara Falls during May. I’m moving my office this week.

On that note I’m going to cut this column short and get on with packing.

Kind regards to our over 7,000 readers. n
