MID Lighting

+44 (0) 1494 437962 www.midlighting.co.uk

MID recently made considerable energy savings when they supplied new LED lighting for the covered walkways at London City Airport. The original installation used twin 54W T5 lamps in a continuous run. MID supplied a new IP rated trough, each 1500mm section fitted with three 13W LED downlights. Controls were also added to further reduce the energy consumption. The airport asked for two out of three lamps to illuminate permanently after dusk and the third lamp to illuminate when pedestrians passed along the walkway. The new installation reduced the energy consumption from 39W per metre to 17.3W per metre, when there is no activity and 26W per metre when the airport is active.
