Frazier Shows’ Freak Out

HP Maier’s Super Chaos (Sicko)

Fiesta Shows’ Speed XXL

KMG KEEPS ‘EM COMING!

Get in quick if you want a new ride from KMG – the Dutch manufacturer has just one delivery slot free for 2014, otherwise production is fully booked through until spring 2015. The company, renowned for its easy to move and assemble thrill rides, has been busy in recent months with deliveries to America and Australia, as well as a major new attraction for a loyal customer in Switzerland. In August, Fiesta Shows (USA) took delivery of its new Speed XXL – a propeller ride finished with rich colours both on the main machine and the loading platform/trailer. The American carnival operator Frazier Shows also went with a refreshing colour scheme for its new Freak Out ride delivered in June. A new Speed ride was about to be shipped at the time of writing to Golden Way Amusements in Australia, its second such attraction from KMG, while in the same country B&B Rides & Games will get a Freak

Out with new style lap bars. The Swiss showman HP Maier, who currently travels a KMG XXL and Inversion, took delivery this summer of his 10th attraction from the company. The Super Chaos, or Sicko as it appears in the KMG brochure/website, was officially blessed ceremony by the Swiss funfair Reverend at the Wetzikon fair on 16 August. Its name is inspired by the Chaos (Afterburner/Fireball) ride travelled for many years by Maier, and which he cites as he most successful KMG attraction to date. His XXL and Inversion will soon go to new owners in Germany and France respectively. New deliveries scheduled for the end of this year include one Freak Out each for Alpine Amusements, Butler Family Fun and All Around Amusements in the USA. In late 2014 KMG will start production of a new style Discovery ride for Australia. That one remaining delivery slot is in October of next year.

Six Flags screams into

Halloween Surely one of the first Halloween events to get underway is Six Flags Great Adventure’s Fright Fest in New Jersey, which this year will run for a record seven weeks – the longest stretch in its 22-year history. Offering “thrills by day” and “fright by night”, the festival promises over 25 Halloween-themed shows and attractions …plus nearly 200 zombies! Families can enjoy favourites like the

Trick-or-Treat Trail, Professor Slithers’ Creepy Critters animal show and Spooky Kooky Magic Show plus the new Monster Maze corn maze. At the Wilderness Theater, audiences can enjoy the new production Doc Snooker’s Halloween Time Machine. From 6pm, things get a little more intense with a new terror trail/blackout maze called Total Darkness and a new lakefront scare zone featuring blood-thirsty scarecrows, Straw-Man Stalkers. Terror trail favourites like Voodoo Island, Asylum, Wasteland and The Manor, now indoors, will return to terrorise guests. Night time shows, or “monstertainment,” will include the return of the iconic Dead Man’s Party, Ghoulmaster’s Ghosts, The Awakening, Circus of Thrills and more.
