Isn’t it a great thing to have such close relationships

with your clients that they feel they can ask you for help at any time? Well, I think the story I heard recently from a fellow Travel Counsellor may have gone beyond ‘going the extra mile’. At the time of booking a client was

told that it wasn’t the driest time to go to Thailand, but she insisted. The TC made sure they went to the driest area possible, but to his horror, not only was it raining when his client arrived but she phoned him at 5.30am to say "It’s raining get me out of here!" Being the wonderful chap he is, he got up and started checking other areas only to fi nd that they were even wetter than originally predicted. So he widened his search to other countries. It turns out that in order to chase the sun she would have to purchase new tickets and spend lots more. Needless to say she decided to stay put, but you’d hope she appreciated his efforts!

IT'S ALL GREEK TO ME I recently got back from the beautiful and peaceful Greek islands of Paxos and Corfu, where the temperature was 36C and I never worried about rain. Until I got home that is! Surely the public must realise that if we can’t

even get our own weather accurate, what chance do we have of predicting it on the other side of the world in 10 months’ time?! One of my main objectives when taking pictures abroad is to capture fantastic sunsets. This holiday I achieved that every day from our private villa in Corfu. On so many holidays I've been let down by cloud, but this time it was beautifully clear and we didn’t even have to go anywhere to see it (see above!).

clients (whether you choose to keep the chocolates or pass them onto your client is up to you!) Just tell me about somewhere that you thought was magical, or unusual and why, send us a picture if possible and you could fi nd yourself featured on this page and with some chocolates.

This month's tip is from Katrina Smith, who is well-travelled from her years with First Choice. So you know this must be special to remain in her mind for so long. Katrina said that the sunrise at Monument Valley, Utah, is truly unforgettable and well worth getting up early for.

On returning I booked another

trip to Greece for September 2014 – Kefalonia this time! I always encourage clients to book early and what better way than by example? It's lovely having things to look

forward to and knowing that I secured the best airfares and got my pick of accommodation. Now if my clients could just cotton on...
