Toshiba has teamed up with electronic point of sale (EPoS) expert, Cunninghams, to provide a flexible EPoS system to Becketts Farm Shop in Wythall, Birmingham, which is easy‐to‐use, reliable and is helping to improve customer checkout times and increase profitability.

The all‐in‐one solution incorporates Toshiba’s award‐winning ST‐A10 touch screens with Cunningham’s Absolute.PoS software, and has enabled five shopping lanes for checkouts and one fast track lane for payment of sandwiches to be added, following a major refurbishment and expansion of Becketts Farm Shop.

The farm shop, which provides customers with the freshest and finest local and quality produce combined with special extras from further afield, previously required its customers to pay for products in individual departments where a cash register system was used.

Toshiba’s quality engineering ensures that its touch screens meet the demands of the busy retail environment. It can also withstand severe thermal and humid conditions and, with its smart ergonomic design and ultra small footprint, the ST‐A10 is aesthetically pleasing.

The beauty of Absolute.PoS touch screen software is its ability to adapt to a busy business environment.

Tuff Spun anti‐fatigue matting, supplied by Plastic Extruders Ltd, is helping keep workers safe and comfortable at The Good Book Company in Epsom, Surrey. With a busy international mail‐order business, warehouse staff were finding it uncomfortable standing for long periods and constantly walking across the bare concrete floor. The solution was to install Tuff Spun, a cost effective and high performance matting designed to reduce standing fatigue. Manufactured from high density foam with a bonded heavy duty and ribbed slip resistant top layer, the matting reduces fatigue and makes standing more comfortable.
