Youth Tour winners Kiwash Electric needs your help

K

iwash Electric needs your help to locate former winners of the Rural Electric Youth Tour. Oklahoma Youth Tour alumni are planning a 50-

year reunion on July 20 in Oklahoma City, and hope to get the word out to as many former winners as possible.

Oklahoma’s electric cooperatives began sponsoring teens on the Rural Electric Youth Tour in 1964. Since that time, over 2,600 students have made the trip, including 44

teens from Kiwash Electric Cooperative territory.

Kiwash Electric began sending teens on the coveted, all- expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. in 1985.

Please take a moment to read over the list of local Youth Tour winners. If you know the whereabouts of any of these former delegates—or if you made the trip yourself—please contact Lisa Willard at 888-832-3362, or Jennifer Dempsey, coordinator of the Oklahoma Youth Tour, at 405-478-1455. You can also connect with former winners, and find out about the reunion, by visiting the Youth Tour Reunion page on Facebook.

Thank you for helping us spread the word!
