ART LAW

ART LAW EDUCATION

FROM THE

INSTITUTE OF ART AND LAW

www.ial.uk.com

From shipwrecks, human remains and Holocaust art, through to blockbuster exhibitions, copyright and protection of cultural heritage in time of war, art law is an area of law that is growing in importance daily.

The Institute of Art and Law offers a range of Law Society CPD-accredited educational possibilities in the art-law field. The Diploma in Art Law is a distance learning course for qualified lawyers, covering all the essential areas of art and cultural heritage law. IAL also offers the possibility to learn through CPD-accredited seminars and discussion groups held in central London. The Diploma in Art Profession Law and Ethics (starting again in November 2012) analyses the legal risks and safeguards that underpin all art transactions. It is an interactive, practical course held in London over a series of Saturday sessions.

See www.ial.uk.com for details of forthcoming conferences on the law relating to art and cultural heritage. IAL also publishes a quarterly journal, Art Antiquity and Law - now in its seventeenth year - together with a range of books on aspects of cultural heritage law.
