Leadership is recognized as a dynamic, creative expression of an indi- vidual’s evolving self. Colleagues are embraced as change agents, innovators whose authentic leadership affects all aspects of their lives. They explore the art, science, and craft of leadership from a number of disciplines and ideologies. Principles including trust, cooperation, co-creativity, and stewardship are examined on interpersonal and organiza- tional scales. The program addresses community-building strategies, investigates how communication and language impact transformation and what is needed to lead change. Classes meet one weekend per month (Friday 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for 22 months) and one week in summer, a schedule intended to support working professionals’ schedules. Diminishing Dizziness with Physical Therapy

uffering from dizziness? According to a study listed with the National Institutes of Health, 42% of the population will experience dizziness in their lifetime. In individuals 65 and older, it is thought that balance related falls account for approximately 50% of all accidental deaths and 75% of emergency room visits. One treat- ment option which many people may not have considered is physical therapy. Physical therapists with specific train- ing may help elimi- nate dizziness, even if clients have had symptoms for a long time. The vestibular system is located in the inner ears. It works in conjunc- tion with muscle control and coordi- nation to help bal- ance this complex


system. Disruption to the vestibular system can occur in many ways: viral infection, head trauma, Meniere’s disease, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, benign par- oxysmal positional vertigo, or even aging. A high percent- age of cases is said to respond to physical therapy, even if the exact cause is not known. At Physical Therapy Services of Guilford (located in Branford) a team of experienced
