A note from the president of the Law Society...

The start of 2012 will herald a more crowded and competitive market place for solicitors. 

With the addition of new entrants to the market, businesses and individuals will have more choices to make about who provides their legal services and competition will become more intense.

The Legal Services Directory is a valuable resource for legal professionals providing a practical way to source a range of specialists and professional contacts that you will need during your day-to-day work.

In addition, two dedicated articles – how a new phase of globalisation is shaping law firms’ strategies and the changing landscape for expert witnesses – provide informed analysis that helps you to gain insight into these key topics.

Using the directory

Following the editorial features, an A-Z index lists advertisements placed by a range of legal service providers under their choice of six colour-coded sections: agency solicitors; barristers’ chambers; CPD providers;

expert witnesses; international law firms and general legal service providers. Page numbers in the A-Z index are highlighted in the colour corresponding to the relevant section for ease of reference.

Each section has its own contents page to enable you to find classified areas of work, be it by geographical area or type of work undertaken.

Alternatively, please refer to the contents on page three to locate the section you require.
