Jesus born on Mount Hood? L

ast December our grandson Aidan, then 4, noticed his grandpa’s sweatshirt with a Mount Hood emblem stitched on it. “That’s a mountain—where Jesus Christ was born. I just love that song!” he told Grandpa. Then Aidan pro-

ceeded to sing: “Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born. ...” Robert and Jerryann Olson Newport, Ore.

An active God The pastor was talking about getting ready for Christmas. He invited the children to see signs around the church that indicate the season of Advent. After pointing to the tree and the Advent candles, one little girl pointed to a manger scene and

said, “And there is the activity set!” Les Hoffmann Paradise Valley, Ariz.

In heaven there is ... hay? After my mother died my grandson Wyatt, 4, asked what heaven looks like. I was curious what his thoughts were. He said, “I bet there are lots of animals.” I agreed. “And lots of flowers.” I agreed. “And lots of hay,” he added. Uncertain, I asked if the hay was to feed the animals. Without hesitation he said, “No, for Jesus to sleep on.” Then he quoted his favorite Sunday school song, “Away in a

Manger.” Laura Denbrook Fergus Falls, Minn.

“How come they just didn’t move back in with their parents?”

December cake market A friend and her 3-year-old son were discussing all the December birthdays in their family. He looked at her wide- eyed and said, “Then you throw in Jesus’ birthday and that’s a lot of birth-

day cakes.” Barbara Stutheit Atchison, Kan.

Sitting with the angels I still remember the startled look on the usher’s face when he asked us where we wanted to sit and we replied, “With the Angells.” He gave me a puzzled look as we headed down the aisle, finding a spot next to my husband’s aunt and uncle, Betty and Franny Angell. “Aha,” he said, breathing a sigh of relief.

“What makes it even more exciting is that I forgot what’s in half of them.”

Phyllis Clausen Mason City, Iowa
