SELECTING A PARTNER


There are many installers of cabling products available around the world. It is essential that the correct installer is selected, as a poorly installed solution will result in additional costs to rectify an underperforming or failing solution. The selection criteria should be based upon the following:


Company Stability - Do they have the ability to fund the necessary procurement requirements to ensure that the project finishes on time and to standard? Will the supplier still be trading after the installation to support the solution, or indeed still be around to complete the installation?


Resource - Can they truly resource a large-scale project of this size? Are they able to resource the local/national/international requirements of the project?


Training - Is the supplier accredited to install the specified solution and are the engineers fully trained on how to install it? Do they hold the right level of manufacturer and industry accreditations to support the project?


Track record/references - Is the installer able to provide references to demonstrate suitable experience in installing similar projects? Can reference visits be organised?


Project Management & Support - Are they operating to certified project management methodologies and recognised ISO standards? Can they provide the level of post installation support services necessary to meet all of their needs?


Warranty - Is the installer able to provide a comprehensive warranty that covers both labour and materials, backed by the cabling system manufacturer?
