THE meetings and events specialist Grass Roots has launched a new tool it claims will assist event planners in tracking all third-party event spending. The organisation says key benefits for clients include gaining visibility of their full meetings and events spend, helping them to benchmark events on price and performance, improve negotiation and drive compliance. Des McLaughlin, managing director of venue procurement at Grass Roots, says: “Over the past five years we have achieved average savings for clients of more than 30 per cent on their venue spend, and with the introduction of a full third-party event spend tracker this can only lead to greater cost and time savings and improve efficiency and leverage.
