FOUNDATIONS FIRST
You can tell that an exhibition is successful by the number of unsolicited testimonials and positive feedback
you get. As an organiser, we usually have to prompt people to say nice things about the event. I am pleased to
say that this is not the case this year. Since we closed the doors back in October, we have been inundated with
positive noises. We have even had one or two companies say it was the best event they have ever exhibited at,
which is huge praise indeed and certainly makes the hard work worth it!

There were plenty of highlights over the two days. Lots of machine launches and new pieces of kit throughout October, we have
the hall, more on which is in the review on page 19. A personal highlight for me was meeting Dr. Carl Deckard,
the inventor of Selective Laser Sintering. Considering he helped to shape the industry we work in, you could been inundated
forgive him for feeling rather pleased with himself, but on the contrary you could not wish to meet a more
down-to-earth and unassuming man. A true legend of the industry!

Hot on the heels of TCT Live of course comes EuroMold at the end of November. You might well be reading

this in Frankfurt as we will be distributing this magazine from our booth in the heart of the new Hall 11, which

Pullin and Terry Wohlers both share opinions with us. Charles Clarke gives us the low-down on the latest from

Oh, and getting back to the title of this missive...Foundations First, I went to meet Andy Middleton, General
Manager of Objet Geometries Europe, to reflect on a busy year for the organisation, but also to see how they are
exhibited at!
gearing up for 2010. They have wisely put some extremely strong groundwork in through this year to position
themselves for the coming months — they are certainly worth watching!
