Championship season in full swing across the U.S.

April plus many world championship events – mean- ing this winter has been just as busy as ever. Ten teams are working to qualify for the 2017 USA

Curling Mixed National Championship, which will take place at the Williston Basin Curling Club in Wil- liston, N.D., on March 18-25. T e winning teams will represent the U.S. at the World Mixed Champion- ship this fall in Switzerland. Twenty teams will head to Alaska for the 2017 USA Curling Club National Championships March 3-11 at the Fairbanks Curling Club. It’s a trip of a lifetime for many curlers to get the opportunity to compete in the 49th state. Teams qualify via regional playdowns for both the mixed and

club championships. T ree additional events in March will deter-
mine 2017 national champions – College National Championship, Mixed Doubles National Cham- pionship and the U18 National Championships. To wrap up the season, the 2017 Arena National Championships will be staged April 25-30 at Compton Arena in Notre Dame, Ind. With the Olympic/Paralympic year upon us,
the 2017-18 season will be even busier with two additional national events added to the calendar with the Olympic Team Trials and the Olympic Mixed Doubles Team Trials (if necessary; con- tingent upon qualifi cation). Also in 2018, aſt er the Olympic Winter Games and Paralympic Winter Games have passed, the U.S. will host the Men’s World Championship at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas March 31-April 8.
