has been a cherished tradition, and Barbie® Doll Collector


Designer Linda Kyaw is deeply connected to her. “I remember her from when I was quite young,” Linda recalls. “I was so impressed by all the detailing, even at that age. I remember thinking, ‘So this is what happiness is!’“


You can imagine what a thrill it is, then, to be designing the doll she used to marvel at in stores. It’s a coveted honor to be chosen to create the Holiday Barbie Doll and a designer would be lucky to have the chance to do it just once. For Linda, this is her third time, and it’s more charming than ever.


There’s also the challenge to do something that’s never been done before. Linda achieves that this year by making the bodice’s silvery accent a part of the actual dress itself, and not just a separate accessory.


Above all else, Linda hopes that the doll brings a moment of joy to collectors—a moment that can be shared with others, too. After all, Linda says, “What could be better than to make a little contribution to someone’s holiday tradition?”
