INDUSTRY NEWS MAT Expanding NEWSCAST


Mexico Facility T e MAT Foundry Group, Poole, United Kingdom, a subsidiary of MAT Holdings Inc., Long Grove, Illinois, announced it will expand its production facilities in Ecatepec, Mexico. T e facility, called Mincer HD, will be expanded in two stages. T e fi rst will provide for 30,000 metric tons of castings and include vertically parted molding technology, induction melting, automated pouring and casting fi nish- ing processes. T is project, which had advanced planning and engineering from Foundry Solutions & Design, Alpharetta, Georgia, will allow the MAT Foundry Group to supply both ductile and gray iron automotive components to customers in Mexico and the U.S. Initial production is set for 2017. Mincer HD will continue to supply


customers with components in the heavy truck, trailer and commercial vehicle markets in the Americas.


Constellation Enterprises, the


owner of Columbus Castings, had its schedule for selling the metalcasting facility approved by a bankruptcy court in Delaware. According to a report in the Columbus Dispatch, Columbus Castings, or portions of the company, will be sold in an auction by Aug. 22. Eastern Products Foundry Inc.,


Phoenix, has been purchased by Dallin Durfee. Eastern provides service in sand cast brass, bronze and aluminum products. Jerry Dujanovic, who owned and operated the company since 1981, will remain with the company. Clinkenbeard, Rockford, Illinois, a manufacturer that specializes in the rapid production of complex metal castings and machined parts, recently completed the necessary requirements to achieve AS9100(c) re-certification to the Quality Management System (QMS) for the
