If you wanted to stay local, where would you recommend? For an evening out The Fig Tree has it all superb menu and location. Situated on the sea front a lovely place to wander pre or post meal. Penarth town centre the Ocho Lounge open all day great atmosphere and interesting drinks menu. Finally although not an evening venue I have to mention the Busy Teapot in Glebe street. A classic do it all cafe’ offering home cooking at its best, run by two brothers who add to the atmosphere.

If you could live anywhere in Penarth, where would it be and why? Wherever you choose to live in Penarth, you’re always going to be close to close to fantastic amenities. Areas around the town centre such as Plassey Street are great because of the short walking distance to restaurants and shops and of course if you choose a Marina apartment you’re spoilt by those amazing views across the Bay. However, if I was pushed to choose just one area I would choose the gorgeous Victorian houses around Clive Place and Church Road. Not only are they equidistant to the beach and town centre but they’re seconds away from great parks and schools too.
How have local prices been compared to other nearby areas?
Due to the high quality range of schools and easy access to the area, Penarth’s property market has only become stronger in recent years. A highly sought after area, Penarth houses a vast array of property types which are suitable

for a variety of buyers. A modern two bedroom flat recently sold on Pearse close for £180,000 and a period four bedroom terraced house on Grove Place went for £375,000 the same week. Penarth offers housing for first time buyers, downsizers and growing families because of the amenities it can offer as well as the available accommodation.Ê
What and where in Penarth would be a good night out for you? Where do I start! Any good night for me would have to include food and drink and Penarth is lucky enough to be home to some great bars and restaurants. For a light bite and some cocktails I would recommend either Bar 44 in the town centre for some tapas or The Pilot just outside the town centre which is a great gastro pub.. For something more sophisticated I would go for Pier 64 or the custom house which are both on the Marina. Any meal has to be followed by a walk on the pier – something we are so lucky to have on our doorstep!
What makes Penarth unique? Penarth is a classic Victorian seaside town that offers good local shopping as well as great open spaces. The schools have a superb reputation and Cardiff is within short commuting distance. Penarth has it all in spades pardon the seaside pun! To find uniqueness is difficult how about a walk on the barrage from Penarth over the water to Cardiff bay not many seaside towns can offer that can they.
