Halle was fi rst in-


troduced to the sport when she was a show rider and began exercis- ing polo horses for extra saddle time. While attending the University of California Davis, she started playing right at the time when women were fi rst allowed to participate in the sport. Returning to

land, Halle was the coach at Garrison Forrest for 10 years before “retiring” to raise a family. “One never really retires from this sport and after taking some time off to raise my kids, I was coaching at Garrison again for another 10 years.” Halle offi cially retired as Garrison’s coach at the end of the 2017 school year. talks, the Harford County Agricultural Center fi nally opened its doors on May 7 in Street. County Executive Barry Glassman was at the ribbon cutting and said (as reported in the Baltimore Sun), “For as many as 20 years, we always talked about having an ag center where we could consolidate all our ag services and Preserve Harford County’s agricul- tural heritage.” T e new Ag Center oc- cupies the former Glen Echo Furniture store at the crossroads of Routes 1 and 136. T e county purchased the property in March of this year for $950,000.


Current Ag Center tenants include the Har- ford County Farm Bureau, Harford County Soil Conservation District, the University of Maryland Extension’s Harford offi ce (includ- ing its 4-H program), and the Maryland De- partment of Forest Pest Management. Addi- tional space is available for federal agriculture entities.

Marilyn Little and RF Scandalous earned the 2018 Pinnacle Cup Trophy for being the top U.S. pair in the Land Rover Kentucky Three- Day Event CCI4* fi nal standings.

Little and “Kitty,” as the 13-year-old Olden- burg mare is known around the barn, started the competition with a bang, scoring an im- pressive 24.8 to top the leaderboard after the dressage phase. Previous winners Michael Jung of Germany and Fischerrocana FST were in second with a 27.1. T e top of the leaderboard jumped around a


bit after cross-country and show jumping. Jung took over the lead from Little after cross-coun- try when he added just 0.4 time faults while Little ended up jumping clean but with 8 time faults, which dropped them into sixth after cross-country. T e eventual winners, England’s Oliver Townend and Cooley Master Class moved up to third place after jumping double clean on cross-country.
