The Resource Center at SeniorLivingU can help. While it has many packages of training programs specific to senior living and certifications for sale, it also offers free resources—including those on COVID-19.
Country Meadows launched SeniorLivingU in 2009, but the program and resources are available to all, and they don’t focus on Country Meadows.
Amanda Hanson, SeniorLivingU executive director, is a former community executive director, so she has special insight into what’s actually helpful. Many on the team are also from communities.
“We use that knowledge to try to provide what is going to make the biggest impact at the moment,”
Hanson says. She recommends checking out the free downloadable infection prevention and control materials.
“We are continuing to send out and put content on our social media and on our website in the resource center, where we have blog posts and short videos on handling COVID and running a vaccine clinic,” she says. ““We have many paid products that are great resources--including our CDAL exam prep manuals--but you can also find a variety of free resources on our website.”
The team does extensive research, checking in with working executive directors along the way. Format depends on what they determine will be most helpful to executive directors—a reminder poster, a short video, or an infographic.
