The head boy and head girl are elected each year by the school council, which is made up of a child from every class. Upon entry to the school, the children are assigned to one of four houses and siblings join the same house as their older brother or sister. Every house has a house captain and vice- captain. The house names were originally chosen by the children. The houses are Astor, Livingstone, Nightingale and Drake.
