Natural History of the Sonoran Desert October 22 & 23 Would you like to be more knowledgeable about the animals, plants, and landscape of our desert? This two-day survey course covers desert ecology, climate, mammals, birds, reptiles, botany and geology. It in- cludes a hike, close encounters with ani- mals, sampling of edible desert plants, a behind the scenes tour and lectures. $120


Cats & Dogs of the Sonoran Desert November 6 Jaguars, Mexican gray wolves, ocelots, coy- otes and more! Our desert hosts at least four species of felines and three of ca- nines. Learn about these carnivores - their preferred habitats, foods and interactions, and how to identify their signs. $40

Birding the Chiricahuas April 7 – 9, 2017 Southeastern Arizona is a paradise for bird- ers. The Earth & Sky Tour Mid-August 2017 Next summer presents a rare opportunity to view a total solar eclipse and the Desert Museum will be there! Join us on a road-side geology trip through the great arid western states of Utah and Wyoming where we will study fossil fish of the Green River Forma- tion, the upturned river bed of Dinosaur National Monument, and the bright orange sandstones of Zion and Bryce Canyons. In the Cowboy State there is a cold roaring riv- er that explodes out of a mountainside, as well as steaming hot spring waters seeping out of the earth at Thermopolis. Price: TBD
