Peter Roberts Headmaster

A Foreword from the Headmaster

I became Headmaster of The King’s School in 2011, having previously been Headmaster of Bradfield College in Berkshire and before that Housemaster of the Scholars’ House at Winchester College.

The long established twin pillars of academic and co-curricular excellence were immediately obvious to me on my arrival in Canterbury, and they explain why I continue to be excited about leading this fine and distinguished school.

The King’s Common Room is rich in diverse talents. The teachers are highly enthusiastic about their respective subject disciplines and extremely astute in understanding teenagers during those important formative years. With their teachers’ support and encouragement, King’s pupils pursue their goals with dynamic energy and creativity, leading to a sense of fulfilment, happiness and well-rounded personal development.

The pastoral care at King’s is of the highest order and there is a genuine sense of community which is embellished by the architectural heritage and unique beauty of The Cathedral Precincts.

A visit to King’s will provide a taste of what is a very special education.
