UK Asset Resolution completes treasury and risk management software revamp

UK Asset Resolution Limited (UKAR), a holding company combining the UK government-owned businesses of Bradford & Bingley (B&B) and NRAM (a UK asset holding and management firm), has replaced its treasury and risk platform with Sungard’s Ambit Treasury Manage- ment/Quantum software. The project comes to fruition nearly

two years since its launch in January 2014.

Sungard says its software will help

UKAR integrate its two distinct business- es into a consolidated infrastructure and provide a single view of treasury and risk. An existing user of Sungard’s balance

sheet risk solutions, UKAR is using the Ambit Treasury Management platform inte- grated with Ambit Asset Liability Manage- ment (ALM). Sungard says this provides UKAR with a framework for balance sheet

management, and brings together treasury and finance operations with liquidity and risk management. It adds that UKAR is now able to ‘auto- mate transaction flows across the front,

middle and back office systems, reduce manual processes, and gain a complete and accurate view of credit and market risk exposure’.

bles interbank transfers in real time. Faster Payments has processed over four billion transactions since its deployment. National ITMX, which operates Thai-

land’s interbank networks, hopes that by tapping up Vocalink Thailand-based banks will be able to process mobile payments and services almost instantaneously using the ISO 20022 standard. The firm chose Vocalink, according to

National ITMX managing director Wanna Notarbhorn, due to its track record in the

UK and abroad: ‘We believe they are best placed to help us identify options for deliv- ering efficient and reliable payments in Thailand’. Last year Vocalink completed a sim-

ilar project in Singapore. Together with local integration partner, BCS Information Systems (BCSIS), it helped the Associa-
