visitors to design and test their own remote control cars. Te distinctive corner tower lookout will house various equipment such as a telescope, periscope and a radar gun equipped to test the speed of passing trains, cars or even pedestrians. In addition to the various themed


exhibits, the MOXI also includes a smart classroom, media theater, rooftop deck/exhibit level, event rental space, and more.


SB’s First LEED Gold Museum MOXI incorporates numerous


sustainable features and is on track to become the first LEED Gold certified museum in the Santa Barbara County, according to Perrin Pellegrin, Managing Partner of Innovative Workshop Consulting, LLC, which has guided the LEED certification process on the project. “High performance design was


always a top priority, even at project conception,” Pellegrin commented. “As an exhibit and educational tool, the building showcases best practices in green building and resource efficient design, construction, and operations. A self-guided green building tour will be available to all building visitors to learn more of all key sustainable imple- mentation measures.” Pellegrin added, “MOXI is


tracking LEED for New Construction Gold certification. Although the project has not undergone its final review at construction completion, the project has successfully documented 24% energy efficiency improvement over Title 24, 42% water reduction
