MARINnovatief 2017 results in seven new exploratory projects

O

ur industry has many challenges concerning the sustainable use of our oceans and safety at sea. We

believe that combining these challenges with MARIN’s knowledge and creativity could lead to ideas that might still be far from a commercially valid solution but they still have potential worth researching, so-called pre-competitive, risk exploratory research. This examines the feasibility of ideas with a low ‘Technology Readiness Level’ or TRL.

To stimulate this kind of creativity at MARIN we organised ‘MARINnovatief

2017’ (MARINnovative). The goal is to use MARIN’s knowledge for new technical solutions to help the maritime sector. It is open innovation so MARIN will share the results with the maritime community. All proposals were discussed and scored by our advisory board comprising academia, colleague institutes and industry representatives.

For 2017 the following ideas have obtained the necessary funding to be explored. Feel free to contact the persons below for additional information or stay tuned through www.marin.nl/ MARINnovatief.
