04 Hello everyone!
I hope this all finds you safe and well (excuse the pun!). We’ve been working hard on our latest issue for you and I’d like to think you’ve eagerly awaited its arrival!
This issue, I’ve taken a look at Lone Worker Protection, something that should never, ever be overlooked. After researching this area and talking to those in the know, it
has shocked me to discover that so many people are still working alone and unprotected. Make sure you get turning those pages and realise just what classifies as lone working – I think you’ll be surprised of the unknown dangers that are lurking.
Talking of protection – I also got a little more physical and looked at Body Protection and Workwear in this issue. From the key equipment, to tackling fake PPE, we’ve got this section covered. An insightful article into hearing damage also aims to make sure you can hear danger coming a mile off too.
As always, I hope you enjoy reading Tomorrow’s Health & Safety. We’ll be back before you know it!
Take care and stay safe. Hello everyone!
We’re back again with another edition of Tomorrow’s Health & Safety!
This issue I focused
on some of the most common workplace injuries – slips, trips and falls. Starting with how to make your workplace a safe one (and a warning on what can happen if it’s not!), I’ve also looked a recent job involving Granwax’s anti-slip products and Ricky Smith from Truvox International discusses how important the right floorcare regime is when it comes to avoiding accidents. I have also included information about the AIF’s attendance at the Safety & Health Expo, where they will be giving their advice on how falls from height can be prevented.
Researching accidents and injuries caused by slips, trips and falls was a real eye opener as to how easily they can happen. Luckily though, they can just as easily be prevented, so I hope the issue teaches you a thing or two as well!
Enjoy reading.
HALTTETAYLGROUP EDITOR BA (HONS) JOURNALISM
Hi all,
More often than not when it comes to reading about Health & Safety in the news, it’s bad; an employer
has been fined or a company has been sued. And none of us are strangers to the continued “No win no fees” adverts that swamp our television screens. Well, this is all because of loopholes in legislation. If you don’t know your in and outs of the law, it could really cost you, so it is always wise to brush up on lesiglation and procedure knowledge.
This issue we’ve had a look at health and safety law, with input from Michael Veal, a partner at Lester Altridge LLP. And to keep you up to date, we’ve also included a piece on what to look out for in future months in regards to legislations – after all, it’s often hard to keep up with this ever-changing area.
I hope you enjoy and learn something new.
