AEG CELEBRATES 50 YEARS IN THE

NETHERLANDS AEG Power Solutions a global vendor of power supply systems and provider of industrial power supply and renewable energy solutions, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the Netherlands.

The company originated in the industrial battery sector. It began in May 1966 as an import company and later became a Nife subsidiary and production site, for rectifiers, inverters and UPS. Nife Accumulatoren B.V. was founded from Koopmans & Co initially for business with the Dutch Railway and the Dutch Royal Navy. The company began with 11 employees originally selling batteries (NiCd batteries with chargers, imported from Sweden) for on-board rail applications and switch gear as well as batteries for naval shipping. Nato stock numbers from that period are still ordered to this day.

When Nife was acquired by Saft Power Systems, the more recent part of its history began, as Saft Power Systems and AEG Power Supply Systems merged forming what is today known as, AEG Power Solutions.

in securing highly reliable power to all types of critical applications, ultimately protecting people, assets and data. Today, AEG Power Solutions operates and directly serves customers in 17 countries.

“We have strived to serve our customers from the Netherlands for over 50 years. Our longevity here and indeed throughout the world is a testament to the commitment our people show to meeting customers’ needs through dedication and innovation. A focus on exceeding our customers’ expectations will ensure our success for many years to come“, said Jeffrey Casper, CEO of AEG Power Solutions.

The Netherlands’ jubilee is an opportunity for the company to travel back in time, and recall a part of its long and eventful history that began at the peak of the Industrial Revolution. To honour their 50th Anniversary in the Netherlands, AEG PS will be running an anniversary campaign through its social networks. AEG Power Solutions invites customers to visit their Facebook page and join in on the milestone celebrations and show their part in the history of the group, by contributing pictures indicating where AEG PS’ products secure their power in real-life.

This is a significant development for geo, which will allow its products to be accessed by Edmundson Electrical’s extensive customer base at 23 Greentech outlets from Plymouth to Inverness and from Belfast to Swansea. The Greentech sales team has already been fully trained and will be able to offer specialist advice on the Cosy heating control system.

Cosy is designed to help users reliably control their heating at home and remotely. It is simple but stylish and works with a wide range of heating systems including combi and system boilers powered by mains gas, LPG, oil or electricity. When used with a system boiler, Cosy can control heating the hot water cylinder (both S Plan and Y Plan systems).

geo will provide full support to Greentech and its customers, including installers, who can access installation guides and a dedicated installer support line that is open on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Cosy is compatible with existing and new boilers, and can be installed easily – alongside existing heating controls

Cosy is the latest product in geo’s ground-breaking range and is part of geo’s long-term objective to reduce energy consumption in its customer’s connected homes by two thirds over the next ten years. How will it do this? By putting consumers in control of their energy usage, providing them with visibility of their usage and making it easy and convenient for them to install and use their products.
