SAFE AND STUNNING FLOORS
AT ANYA COURT A combination of Polyflor’s luxury vinyl tiles and safety flooring were used to help create a bright and welcoming atmosphere throughout Anya Court care home in Rugby, Warwickshire recently.
Part of the Hallmark Care Homes Group, Anya Court provides nursing, residential and dementia care for up to 70 residents. The interior design of the home is focused on encouraging active and independent living that creates a specialist dementia community where residents will feel at ease in their surroundings.
Hard-wearing wood and stone effect luxury vinyl tiles from the Expona Commercial PUR range were fitted in many communal areas, providing the homely and comforting look of natural materials in a floorcovering suitable for these high traffic zones.

With a pimple emboss and carborundum- free safety particles for slip resistance in barefoot and shod areas such as wet rooms, Polysafe Hydro Evolve flooring in
pastel shade Danube was fitted into the home’s adapted bathroom and shower areas for all residents.
Safety flooring was also installed in back of house areas to keep the staff at Anya Court safe when at work. Polysafe Ultima flooring in Mortar was installed in kitchen and food preparation areas for added slip resistance where oil and grease spillages may be regularly be found.
Jacqueline Farguson, design manager at Hallmark Care Homes, designed the home and specified Polyflor throughout. Jacqueline commented: “It was vital for us to avoid a clinical look by creating a safe but homely environment for Anya Court residents that would suit their various needs. We are continually impressed with the range of attractive and fit for purpose flooring options available from Polyflor, which meant we could use their products throughout this new care home and others in our portfolio.”

SHACKLETONS CHOSEN FOR INDIVIDUAL CARE
HOME PROJECT Olea Care hired Shackletons to provide a bespoke service for their latest care home, Fernlea in Hazel Grove Village, Stockport. Shackletons worked with Olea Care to develop a light and airy environment with individual design characteristics in each room to provide interest and variation.
Maintaining a quality feel, bespoke fitted bedroom furniture and wall mounted media panels were designed and manufactured for 48 private rooms. The three communal lounges were furnished to create an individual ambience and private seating areas were also created away from the main lounges to offer quiet spaces for residents to sit comfortably in solitude.
Varying styles of furniture, textiles and colours were adopted; from a seaside theme in a fresh Aquamarine colour in one, to a spectacular main lounge complete with a bespoke Shackletons crafted 2.4m aquarium, and a sophisticated upstairs lounge featuring chandeliers and cosy fireside chairs. Each setting received a five star treatment.
Sara Jane Farrow, regional sales manager at Shackletons, said: “Olea Care was looking for a bespoke and high end quality finish that would withstand the day to day challenges of a very busy care environment.”

Bringing the whole concept together the Shackletons installation team worked within the parameters the site set them and were flexible with installation dates to ensure, delivery, unpacking and placement of furniture was achieved successfully leaving every room clean and tidy and ready for viewing.
